                    Meeting Amsterdam, May 10th,  2010

On May 10th, 2010, 20 people gathered in Amsterdam to meet Dr. Marshall and his wife Liz.

The idea to meet was brought up by Dr. Marshall himself as he was travelling through Europe already for the congress in Ljubljana in the first week of May.

Ron van den Dungen, Anne Ypeij and Annemarie Otermans, all MP members, worked Dr. Marshalls idea out to a greater meeting and invited all Dutch MP members they could reach.

Ron, Anne and Annemarie met at first in November 2008 with Frans van der Horst at the High Tech Campus to discuss the MP. From that day on they stayed in contact.

Today , the target of all four of us is to spread the news about MP in the Netherlands and surrounding countries.

And there we were all 20, together in Amsterdam.

The afternoon started with a welcome by Anne.

Ron presented a speech about the knowhow of the MP, followed by Dr.Marshall who explained the MP  once again for everybody. Important and quite new is the insight that Olmesartan is the key to recovery.  Actually Olmesartan makes it possible to reset the immunesystem. The antibiotics are usable when the state of recovery allows to bring them in, in other words, when immunopathology is low and tolerable. The immunopathology one can experience, has to be interpreted in the right way, feeling ill doesn’t mean being ill, on the contrary. Feeling ill means the immunesystem  wiping out bacteria and their products, in other words, it means clean-up of the body.

After a short break Ron explained in an interesting slide-show the discovery and history of vitamin D and the misuse of it today in the world.

Finally there was time for discussion.

The afternoon went by very quickly and rather cozy.

For all the Dutch MP members and the members in surrounding countries it might be worthwile to mention the emailaddress once more to keep in contact if needed and/or wanted:

marshallprotocol@live.nl

Also good to know there is a translation in Dutch on the MPKB  (Marshall Protocol Knowledge Base) site:

http://mpkb.org/home/patients/translations/dutch

We thank Dr.Marshall and his wife Liz once again for their willingness to come over to Amsterdam to meet and inform us all.  We hope to meet again already!

Thanks Annemarie! :)

It was good to see a very international crowd had gathered in Amsterdam yesterday. We had French, German, Dutch and English people over. Some even canceled their holiday to be able join. And certainly the Aussies went to great lengths staying one step ahead of the volcano ashes. :) :) :)

A big THANK YOU for the Marshalls!

The yellow tie holds true. When that changes...well, I don't know. LOL.

It's funny about the trash overflowing. I don't recall that from when I lived and worked in Amsterdam, but it reminds me of a few NYC strikes.

It's also a pointer to how much trash the average person can toss out. Now, if we could only rid our bodies of trash so easily. :)

Amsterdam street cleaners were on strike last week, it's all neat and tidy again. :)

Well there you have it Ron. Trash overflow looks the same amongst big cities. :-)

I'm glad things are back in order now. I love that city.

During my presentation on Vitamin D in Amsterdam I showed a picture of these typical Dutch cookies:

It's one of the very few bakery products that have "Vitamin D" listed as an ingredient. I've always found it very odd that it was on there and highly unlikely that the cookies would actually be fortified (that would be illegal here). The inquiry I made at the bakery was not answered in time before our meeting in Amsterdam. It turned out there is a lot of confusion on industrial margarine and whether or not it contains "Vitamin D". So over the last couple of weeks I've been further investigating this and contacted bakeries, margarine producers and also the "Product Board for Margarine, Fats and Oils". They eventually all responded with certain, clear answers. Here are the conclusions:
  • The product above contains Vitamin D because it is made with fortified margarine
  • All industrial margarine in the Netherlands has Vitamin D added to it
  • All Dutch margarine based bakery products thus contain "Vitamin D"!!!
Apparently there is no regulation on listing "Vitamin D" as an ingredient on the end-product so we should be thankful to those few that do put a warning on the package for us. :? Even if half of the end-product is pure margarine, like the ready made puff pastry you can buy in the supermarkets, it does not list the steroid as an ingredient... :(

Some of the attendees have mailed me about not being able to post in this thread. Please note that this "Announcement and News" forum is public and that the "Guests visiting Phase 1/2/3" are not set up to have write permissions here. So by request of 'Diesel' I will post his message here:

Hi all,

My wife and I like to thank you all folks for organizing this meeting in Amsterdam..

It was great to meet Trevor and Liz and all the other MP members from different countries. We are looking forward to a next meeting with all of you.

The picture of the trash bin was probably taken after the meeting. We are all so much wiser now and immediately discarded all of the vitamin D containing products. I presume........

Let’s hope we somehow can stop our government from adding more and more Vit.D to our food. The so called enrichment of food is progressing rapidly and Vit.D is harder and harder to avoid.

Greetings Diesel and his wife.

HI RON & ALL

This is Fred in WV.  Speaking of vit-D being added to food, I have been seeing adds in magazines for RONONI SMART TASTE white pasta saying it has added calcium, vitamin D and fiber.  It is the first pasta that I have seen that said they have added vitamin D.  Something else to have to watch out for.

Remember, we are all in this together and I am pulling for us.

Hi Freddie, I think I found the ad:

What's so special about RONZONI SMART TASTE? It's the first white pasta to be enriched with Fiber, Calcium and Vitamin D-- and lots of it.
Scary...

Joyful: I like your slogan much butter! :P

Hi,

I was very happy to meet all of you in Amsterdam!

Sorry, Dr.Marshall, Liz, for the weatherconditions and the bad smell of all the trash in the city........

Hopefully we can do this again on a beautifull summerday with a lot of MP members in a nice, clean and warm place. Never the less I was delighted to meet you and your wife in Amsterdam!

Thank you for coming over!

Annemarie
