The herx on 50mg of Mino is tolerable.  I feel worse on the day I take the abx.  Since the last dose, the main thing I noticed is pain in areas that I think are cartiladge, or connective tissue.  Where muscle and tendon meets the bone. (thanks John)  The areas of pain I noticed were at the knuckles, wrist, elbows, back of hips, knees, ankles and shoulderblades.  I will be in no hurry to get to the 100mg dose.

Angela,

Good to see you posting here thank you :)

Angela, You may need to alter the mino dose down at any given time as well, should the herx become intolerable or too uncomfortable. please see the info in the phase 1 doc. quoted here>>

"Do not try to 'speed up' therapy by using a higher dose of minocycline than the minimum needed to give you Herxheimer. These are very slow growing bacteria and there is no need to hurry. The dose of antibiotic that you can tolerate may change (both up and down) during the course of therapy." <<<<

when you do increase your dose..... please do Not jump to 100 mg ..

please increase it by smaller increments....  for safety and comfort. we are wanting you to be safe and to be comfortable.

thanks, Barb....

Thank you Barb.  You got it.  I already printed this up to read, but I still need to send it to Doc.  Hopefully he will read over it too.  He wants me to give him a one month update at the minimum and I am already overdue.  I am trying to think of the simplest way to word things down on paper -i.e. increasing Benicar to q4h helped to relieve my heart herx- and in a way that may eventually benefit his helping others along with the MP.

Barb, I do have the NoIRs and I've been wearing them all the time.

Do you know if the Bolle100 glasses are ok?  (I thought about looking into getting some that fit my oval face a bit better.)

Another question please:

If I want to cut back on the Mino to the 37.5mg dose -to see if that's better on the heart- Do you know if it's ok to divy the capsule and put in water to mix and drink?

Thank you for your time, you are very helpful.

Angela,

there is some discussion about glasses here >>Glasses that block IR

* Please take care of that Heart!

re divvying the capsule... you can mix it in apple sauce.. and if you mix it in water, please make sure you are mixing it well and getting the dose you are wanting to get... no more and no less...

Hello.

Some of my heart symptoms appear to be gone for now, but I am often aware of the heart beat itself.

It is loud enough to hear, or at least I am very aware of it and a lot of times it is not consistent

These symptoms have been going on pretty much since I added the abx, but I haven't thought too much of them until the other heart symptoms left.  I figured I would mention it though..

I have spoken with my Doctor's office and he is fine w/ me taking the Benicar q6h instead of 8 like he originally prescribed.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Other symptoms are body aches and pains.  My knees were hurting real bad last night.  I've been grunting a little too. :shock:
I can also hear this pulsing or swooshing in my ear
My tinnitus is worse too.
Just wanted to check in.  Ihope everyone is doing ok.
I guess I'm just bored here lately.  One good thing though is that my depression is still gone!
Hi Angela,
It sounds by the symptoms that you describe that you are going fast enough, heavy enough .. and definitely not too slow... as long as you are comfy.. ? I know I have told you many times not to push your Heart. take care and rest for the best too..
I'm pleased the depression has lifted.. and your feeling a little bored may be a lifting of some brain fog and a good move...
and I am pleased you are staying in contact with your Dr. do not hesitate to call them if you need to.
thanks for posting Angela, Barb ...
Angela,
Is your doctor aware that you can hear your heartbeat in your head? Usually this is a benign circulatory anomaly but it is something your doctor needs to check out.
Rhythm disturbances are not uncommon with Th1 inflammation. I'm assuming that your doctor does not think you have coronary artery disease. You should report any rhythm change that is very slow (below 50 beats per minute), very rapid (above 160 beats per minute) or skipped beats that are either very frequent (more than 10 per minute) or unusually long intervals (more than 3 seconds). These should all be checked out by electrocardiogram.
It sounds like you are doing fine though.
Take good care,
Meg
Thanks you two.
The swooshing/fluid sound in my ears is still around, but I could not hear my heart beat today.  Maybe because I stayed in the bed all day.  If it keeps happening I will let the doctor know, and not let this go.
Thanks again.  I appreciate both your posts.  I was glad to see them.
oh I did hear my heart beat not long after I drank freshly squeezed orange juice, but I imagine that had something to do with the blood sugar?  It didn't last long though.  Just wanted to add that in so I didn't feel like I lied in my earlier post. :D
Meg,
Are you suggesting that I get EKG to FIND OUT if I have these disturbances, or if in fact I find that I have say more than 10 off beats per minute THEN maybe get an EKG?
Doc has never mentioned coronary artery disease.  I did see that Benicar is prescribed for conjestive heart failure, and so I thought that was interesting.
I admit I have been hesitant to bring up the heart issue to Doc, or to go into much detail about it, for fear he might remove me from the MP and then my treatment will be gone.
I've had such a hard time trying to get any treatment, and with me believing the Marshall Protocol is gonna get me well, it would be quite devastating to have that taken away.
I can hear my heart in my head again today and I'm thinking that yesterday was different only because I had bed rest all day.
So what do you think?  Any advice?
Should I just casually mention it to Doc and say..
Doctor B, I just wanted to let you know I can hear my heartbeat in my ears (and in my head)?
THANKS Meg, I appreciate your input.
~angela
ps.  FWIW, I think this is just a symptom (or sign) of the disease itself, and is not permanent..
Angela,
I think it's a good idea to mention to your doctor that you can hear your heartbeat in your head. Let him know that you are not concerned but you just thought he should know.
The suggestion about abormal heartbeats was just a guideline to help you decide when and if you should seek medical attention. It is always possible that cardiac arrhythmia is caused by ischemia. That is a lack of blood flow to the heart due to narrowed coronary arteries. This is the cause of a myocardial infarction or heart attack. Most doctors want to rule this out when they are aware of an arrhythmia. And we want you to know that you don't have to worry about this. Then you can assume that your arrhyhtmia is due to Th1 inflammation and feel confident that you are treating it in the best way possible, with the MP.
Best,
Meg
Hi Barb.
Today is the first day in exactly a week that I haven't felt like I have the flu, so I am doing pretty good.  I wish I didn't get tired out so easily, or that I was stronger, but that will come in time.
I went without my NoIRS for the first time tonight for a few hours.  We had a little kiddie birthday party over here and so I wanted to see everyone.
I am having some type of hot flash as I type this, but other than that I am doing just fine.
Thanks for popping in.  I will come see you soon. :)
Hi Barb.  Thanks for checking in.
I sent my NoIRs back because I was getting too much light above and below the glasses.  Ever since then I have been either going downhill or at a standstill.
I went through some emotional swings for a few days there and cried a bit..;)
My heart concerns are back, but the glasses should be here in two days so that is something good to focus on..
Once I get the glasses the plan is to wear them for at least a week while staying on the 50mg dose of Mino, and then hopefully after a few more days I can increase the dosage.
I should probably wait until the flu-like symptoms go away before increasing the Mino dose.
I may have mentioned this before, but the metallic taste in my mouth is still gone.
Hopefully the heart will feel improved once I get these new glasses.
I have the feeling it will.
Hope everyone is doing ok.  I've been staying off the computer for the most part, until the new glasses come in.
Thanks again..
~angela
