Are you drinking alot of water? My chiropractor mentioned that to me when I told her my neck was swollen. She said sounded like my lymph nodes were working hard and to drink alot of water. It was odd that I was also thirstier than usual around that time. :shock:

Coincidence? Maybe... In My Opinion, I think my thyroid was acting up; maybe herxing going on in there.

PS Thanks for the updated sig line. When you post again, pls be sure to remind me of your mino dosing/herxing, so we can "keep track" of how it's going.

I drink more water than anyone I know. At least a gallon or more a day. It seems like I never quit drinking, plus everything else that I drink, tea etc. They just checked my thyroid less than a year ago. It was fine, but I go back to the doc in March, I can ask her to check it again. I have swollen lymph nodes in a lot in the past but not as big as this time. I figured it was big time herxing. I am sure there are lots of bugs in the nodes. I also have a rash in my mouth on the right side. I had a good day except for a little swelling left in the right side of face and mouth is still a little sore, did feel a little tiny pain in ear for a while otherwise just the usual fatigue.

Things got all messed up and I did not get to go get supplies today and I had skipped my 25mg Mino dose last night for that reason. I am going tomorrow (Tuesday), I will take 25mg Mino when I get home. If you need any more info, please let me know. Barney

LEFT EYE IS ITCHY TO SOME DEGREE. IS THIS A HERXING AFFECT? AM GOING OUT TONITE TO GET THE SUPPLIES I WAS UNABLE TO GET LAST NIGHT. WITH ALL THIS, SHOULD I GO AHEAD AND TAKE MY 25MG MINO I HAVE BEEN PUTTING OFF (WHEN I GO TO BED TONIGHT)?

HOW MUCH QUERCETIN SHOULD I TAKE TODAY?

PLEASE ADVISE IF I AM CORRECT IN ALL OF THESE THINGS? I ALSO NOTICED THAT AFTER SITTING IN THAT BUILDING, I RESEMBLED A DRUNK WALKING.

I WILL TELL YOU ONE THING, I THINK I WILL JUST LEARN TO STAY IN EXCEPT FOR DOCTOR APTS OR PICKING UP MEDS THAT I CANNOT GET SOMEONE TO PICK UP FOR ME.

From the amount of light exposure you must have gotten, I would say you've increased your 1,25-D quite a lot. You won't be able to tell the full effect until about 6hrs after the exposure and you'll feel it for at least the next two days.

Yes, taking your Benicar 20mg, q2h, would be a good idea, until you feel the negative effects of the light wear off. (check w/Dr of course)

Although the light exposure feels like herx, it's not. Do NOT take Quercetin, as it will only make you feel worse, until you get your Benicar blockade stabilized again, after the effects from the light exposure wear off.

It would also be a good idea to skip mino for the next couple of days.

Yesterday after the light exposure, I took a pain pill and rested for several hours and took a short nap. By 4pm, I was feeling a lot better, eyes not hurting, no pain anywhere else. Went back to q3hr Benicar schedule. Had a good time with my friend shopping and had a great meal out. It was devine (Texas Roadhouse). Got home around 11pm. It was 120 mile round trip after dark.

Had a great night's sleep, got up at 6am, have felt great all day so far. I feel like I am teetering on a fence just waiting for the double whamy from the light exposure. If I am still feeling fine at midnight tonight, I think I will try the mino again.

I am so thankful for what MP has done so far. I have not had the severe headaches and neckaches I had before I started MP. They were harindous and I did not think they would ever stop. I have not even had to go back to the Chriopractor all of January and none of February so far. I also have had such a drastic reduction in smell sensetivites, it is unreal. I can handle almost any scent I come in contact with and some of them actually smell 'normal' and good. WHAT A BLESSING. IF I GOT NOTHING ELSE FROM THE MP, IT WOULD BE WELL WORTH ANYTHING I HAVE GONE THRU.

Well, I chickened out at midnight, even tho I felt okay, I did not take the mino. But, I did get up at 6 am and took 25 mg mino. It is about 5:40pm, and all is well so far, just waiting for the ball to drop, to see where the bugs are going to put up a fight next.

Sort of an uneventful day. Raining here, no sunshine. We usually have 354 days of sunshine here, this has been a very unusual winter. We were in a drought for several years and now we almost have caught back up on water levels. That is nice because I love my well water (no cholorine, no flouride).

Up at 5:40 am, ate breakfast and could stay awake, Went back to bed after taking pain pill, shoulders huring real bad. Pain pill did not even touch the pain. Got up at 12 noon, pain still in shoulders bad, tried to tough it out for a while, but ended up taking another pain pill around 3pm. I noticed a real cold feeling for a little while (noticed this before when taking minocin but not relate it to this until today). Got the pain down to bearable.

Went to Walmart and Peppers after dark. Sweated the whole time I was out. That subsided after I arrived home. Doing well and not herxing as bad as I had anticipated.

I have been reading Reenie's site today, was glad to know that I am not the only one who does not get dressed some days (stay in night clothes). I am not having any problems with being in my 'cave', no depression, although, some bordem. If I would just do something (which I have plenty to do), I would not have bordem but some days just do not want to do anything I should do. Not really fond of doing housework some days and since I live alone, I figure if I can stand the dirty dishes etc. there is no one else to complain. Besides I get the remote control all to myself.

Actually after I pushed the send button, I realized I did not post the Benicar correctly. I was trying to keep all in mind for 2 days posting and did not look at my journal correctly. I probably did this wrong but I uped the Benicar to 40 mg an hour before I went out and when I got back at approx 12 noon I took another 40 mg Benicar. Did I blow it?

If this was light expos only, why am I not herxing at 50 mg minocin? Barney

You have done well, and what the FAQ explains is >> When herxing and being exposed to light simultaneously, these two phenomena can cause a much more elevated rise in 1,25-D than either would independently, causing what feels like a more intense herx. <<

so that is to say the light exposure can cause the herx to be more intense than the herx on it's own.. could be why the symptoms were more difficult..

as you know the 40mg x 4 hrly is equal to 20mg x 2hrly,

and I think you have taken 20mg x 3 hrly for some of that... that you thought to take it frequently is great.. that is 200mg for the day.

Taking the mino the next day instead, may have also given you a little more time to get thru the rise in 1,25D..

If you think of it as the light causing the rise in 1,25D

and the herx causing a rise in 1,25D (same) (which is an add on to the light)

and that Benicar 40mg x 4hrly x time can lower the 1,25D to relieve herx and light symptoms.

keep asking if need be, Barb ....
