I'm afraid my disease is getting worse with the MP...the anti-inflammatory agents I used in the past made me feel better.
Using anti-inflammatory agents only may make you feel better temporarily but will allow your disease to progress. If your symptoms are worse while you are on the Marshall Protocol, you can be sure it is due to bacterial die-off and not disease progression.
Treatment with the Marshall Protocol requires a conviction that the cause of your inflammation is intracellular, pleomorphic bacteria. And that the elimination of these bacteria will eventually result in resolution of the inflammation and recovery from disease.
Unfortunately, the only way to eliminate those bacteria involves the unavoidable and manageable immune systme reactions. The ability to accept and tolerate a certain level of immunopathology is a requisite of continuing with the Marshall Protocol. Please keep in mind that immunopathology is not always predictable. Usually these symptoms wax and wane but they can also be constant for varying periods of time. They often mimic your disease symptoms but they can also be surprisingly new, pointing to areas of previously undetected inflammation.
We know that this is alarming for someone who already has damage to body parts. Consider the person with severe cardiac inflammation who has to endure frightening arrhythmias or chest pain before the heart muscle is free of inflammation. Or the person whose liver enzymes rise before they fall. Or the person whose shortness of breath and coughing gets worse before pulmonary function improves.
Benicar is designed to reduce the amount of increased inflammation due to the immunopathology and prevent further tissue injury. Taking the antibiotics in a controlled fashion to minimize, but not eliminate the immune system reaction, should also prevent permanent damage.
There is no guarantee that immunopathology won't cause some permanent tissue damage but we think that you can control your therapy to avoid that. On the other hand, it is a given, that not treating the underlying cause of your inflammation guarantees further, permanent tissue damage and possibly even death.
