I found an interesting article/study. Can you tell me what it means?

Hardly a day goes by that we don't receive a link to a scientific study or news article for evaluation. We realize members are trying to be helpful or trying to understand their disease better but this flood of requests for help assessing medical information severely taxes the resources of the MP research team.

Dr. Marshall has a circle of scientific colleagues who keep him apprised of the latest scientific literature that is pertinent to our research. Rarely will anything new be discovered by a member of the lay community that is worth his time and attention.

How can I become informed about all my health issues?

If you have found your way to our medical website, you are proactive regarding your health care and have learned to be a discriminating health care consumer. You have probably been ill a long time and may have tried many conventional and/or alternative medical treatments to no avail. You may be accustomed to visiting many websites in an attempt to find a treatment that will work. If you are on the MP, you have shown good judgement in rejecting the status quo and recognizing the validity of the definitive science of the MP and this far-reaching medical breakthrough.

Sometimes, however, folks don't recognize that a seemingly new health problem is related to Th1 inflammation and they feel they must research other websites. Then we get questions from anxious members about the validity of standard and alternative tests or treatments or protocols.

The Internet makes it easy to search and find a vast number of studies and articles on anything pertaining to health. While we would love to help you assess the accuracy of what you have found, we simply don't have the time. We must focus our limited resources on helping members understand the process of Th1 inflammation and how to manage the Marshall Protocol. If you feel compelled to continue your search for medical information off site, ask yourself how necessary it is to keep seeking out literature that is not informed with the Marshall pathogenesis of Th1 inflammation.

Be sure to examine the available literature with this question in mind "is the source informed about vitamin D metabolism, the pathogenesis of Th1 inflammation and its effective treatment?" If you do not find any compatibility with the MP science in an author's conclusions, predictions or advice, do not assume it is correct.

If you continue to rely on (or even dabble in) medical consensus and current standard of care definitions or use them as a measure against the MP, you are missing the point. Most, if not all, of your many and varied symptoms, are directly related to Th1 inflammation. To avoid unnecessary tests, meds or treatments, please ask for help on our site before you take action. It could save you a lot of worry, time and expense.

The amateur scientist

Unless you are a highly educated research scientist, please refrain from trying to develop your own theories of complicated biological processes. It is best that the layperson not overanalyze the biochemistry of Th1 inflammation and the immune system. It's far too complicated and isn't necessary to your recovery. Dr. Marshall has used his expertise and done this for you. You just need to use your critical thinking skills to recognize the validity of his research. It's best if you focus your energies on ways to get on the MP or how to manage your immunopathology while on the MP and leave the research to the researchers.

Please do not post guesses, speculation or uneducated scientific theories on the study site. Someone who is new or brain-fogged may believe this information to be factual. Posts deemed inaccurate, misleading or inappropriate to our goals will be deleted.

We appreciate members who attempt to help other members understand the science. However, we spend considerable time reading every word on the site for accuracy to maintain our professional credibility and ensure that no one is confused by misinformation. Most of the answers are already on site and we prefer that you refer folks to the tutorials, DVDs, scientific papers and FAQs.

It's not that we don't welcome sincere questions in an effort to understand the science behind the MP. Please understand that we are stretched to the max trying to meet the needs of our members and the research team also has many projects ongoing behind the scenes. Out of necessity, we ask that members read the information we have spent so much time compiling before they ask questions. When we get a question that has been asked and answered before, we will refer you to the available information first. Please click on these links and read the details carefully. Then, if need you further clarification, we will be happy to help.

I don’t understand the science behind the Marshall Protocol. Where can I get answers?
