I wonder if PIV-5 also hides out in macrophases as well?  PIV-5 has been linked to chronic fatigue syndrome.  Long before learning about PIV-5 I had suspected that our exposure to a litter of feral cats contributed to my and two of my childhood friends developing CFS (et all).  PIV-5 is associated with feral cat exposure, as it is thought to be a virus that leaped from farm animals to humans.  (Particularly with feral cats near farms.)  PIV-5 seems to have its own way to shut down the immune system and allow bacterial buildup; however, I am counting on the MP to reduce my bacterial load enough so that my body can handle the PIV-5 virus if I have it.  (Don't think they have a test for that yet.)  And if not, then to stop all of the bacteria related IPR so I can function as a healthy person. Claire

eClaire,
Please don't take mouse studies of the immune system as anything more than poorly-educated guesses.

When you have been around medicine as much as I have, you will understand that every persistent virus (nearly) has been implicated in just about every idiopathic disease.

Ignore this stuff about PIV-5. And stop sweating about what made you ill. You were made ill at, or soon after, conception, and neither of your parents can be held responsible, either, as otherwise you wouldn't be here...  :) Just focus on getting better... as you are doing...
