Melinda, THAT (riding horses) is great.  I thought the last time I rode a horse might be my last because of back pain!  Thanks for the inspiration!  Claire

Hi!:)
Dr Oz finally did something about lyme on the Oprah and Friends Radio, the 26th of November 2008!

http://www.oprah.com/article/oprahandfriends/moz/20081126_oaf_moz

It was a talk with filmmaker Andy Abrahams Wilson (Under Our Skins) and reporter Kathy Fowler about Lyme disease.

Kathy is a medical reporter on Channel 7, at the ABC Washington. She discovered during her research about lyme, that she too, has got lyme's disease!

Everyone,

The movie "under our skin" , which is being released throughout the US this month, will go some way to raising the profile of the debilitating effects of chronic illness and the lack of understanding in the medical fraternity about its existence and pathogenesis.    In the movie the following ideas are raised:

1.)     The bacterial pathogenesis of the disease.

2.)     The idea that lyme can be passed onto unborn babies during gestation.

3.)      That compromised immunity may be involved in disease progression.

4.)      And that a wide spectrum of symptoms and other chronic illness presentations are associated with lyme.

A trailer of the movie can be found @ http://www.underourskin.com/watch.html

Regards

Teresa

Great trailers! This film will travel the globe!

I did some clicking away, and maybe this is a way to listen to the full radioshow. http://www.pitchengine.com/underourskin/under-our-skin-on-dr-oz-show-oprah--friends-siriusxm-radio/1592/

and I also took a look at the future fundings for some of the research on this field of interest from the patients organisation;
http://www.turnthecorner.org/2008Grants.html

The science is getting closer, and I must join Paul Albert now to finish doing the Wiki!
In just six months from now, we must be able to help and guide people in our neighborhoods.
Anybody can help out, we just have to be able to click and spell check and so on....:P
