I have put online Jacks' incredible photographic record of our 2006 conference.
There are about 500 seperate photos, the good, the bad, and the ugly. You can browse the thumbnails, and then select the full-size images you want to look at. But be kind with your selection, please, these are raw photos, and you will only find me smiling on a very small proportion of them
'Full-size' is actually a misnomer, as the images on the web are a poor imitation of the incredible quality in the originals of these professional photographs - the fully detailed images are each 12 megabytes in size - incredible detail and clarity.
If you decide to print some of these photos please consider sending Jacks something to help defray the cost of his equipment, and time.
Thanks, Jacks, you really helped to make this an event which will make its mark on history...

Well, Jacks sure did a superb job of capturing the conference. I am of course very proud of him, especially because he was herxing! Then he worked many long hours in post to get everything just right. All I did was make sure he ate enough and stopped him from throwing his computer out the window when the software misbehaved. Thus, my contribution to the pics themselves was negligible, if that! (However, the herxy photographer does still have a computer!!)
Thank you Cannons for the great snaps as well! You caught so many individuals, which is really nice.
There were others who took pictures too...hmmm...are you going to post yours as well?
Again, it was such a wonderful opportunity to be able to attend the conference and see all these faces in real life!
-- Alayne
P.S. The group pic where everyone's waving (many had already left LA ), was taken for Aussie Barb who couldn't be there.

Wrotek,
To shoot the LAX conference, I used a canon 30D(8.2 megapixel)camera. It has a great CMOS chip inside it. The two canon lenses I used were a 24-70mm USM AF lens, as well as a 70-200mm IS USM AF lens.
Because of the really low light inside, I had to rate the iso high..at 1600asa,(which unfortunately gives a lot of 'noise'),and then supplement with a flash that I set really low, and with an amber gel covering it (so as not to bother the MP folks).....I still had to push the images about 1/2 to 1 full stop farther in processing...to lighten them up a bit more.
I shot all the images in RAW format. This gave me more control(or latitude) with the final images.
A typical RAW file from this camera is around 7 - 8.5mb in size.
The same RAW file converts into a 22mb Tiff file, or down to around 8- 12mb in a Jpeg.
And all you wanted to know was which camera? -Jacks

The pictures were a lot of hard work done well Jacks. All very clear. Good work by Cannons too. Thank you both for all the hard work. Wow. I couldn't be everywhere at once so aspects of the conference I didn't get to see were really appreciated.
I just took a new avatar from me waving hello to Aussie Barb. I might even switch around a bunch that are different angles of me at the conference from time to time too.Last edited on Mon Jul 3rd, 2006 04:59 by jrfoutin

| Thanks to the photographers for great pix. Now we left-behinds have a new game: 'name the member'. Some are recognisable from their avatars, a few from the last DVDs... but anyway, you all look so happy and that's good.

| Agreed Julia. There was a great feeling of happiness at the conference. It is evident even in the photographs.

Wonderful to see all of the pics. My 11 year old daughter asked "Where's Trevor?" Which I thought was very cool. She had to SEE who Trevor is
Loved the group shots!

It's a LOT of work to take so many photos and then to prepare and post them! Thanks so much... your efforts are appreciated!!
It was really great to meet and share with those I met at the conference... I am glad that both my husband and I had the opportunity to attend. Great job by all who put it together!!
Thanks a ton!
