Was Dr. Marshall invited to "fill in the gaps?"

| Most probably not, considering what is in the abstract. It would be nice if he would show them the slides pointing out 25D as immunosuppressive at 30ng/ml, but I don't think the general public will be so lucky, I guess a lot lot of these 'experts' would die on the spot...

No, I was not invited.
The only people invited to speak at this gathering are those who have spoken favorably of Vitamin D supplementation, and one of the most zealous supplementers of all, Prof. Vieth, is scheduled to talk about "Potential Adverse Outcomes of Vitamin D."
http://vitamindandhealth.od.nih.gov/agenda.aspx
I have a video of a Prof Vieth presentation arguing "Some books call Vitamin D a hormone - it is definitely not a hormone."
This lack of expertise is apparently just what the NIH prizes these days... Easier to get more research money from Congress if there is no real science presented - no chance of uncertainty or dissent...

This reminded me of an interesting presentation by Prof. Hector DeLuca, the person who holds the patent on 1,25-D, and who is possibly one of the most molecular-oriented of the 20th Century's Vitamin D researchers.
http://www.researchchannel.org/prog/displayevent.aspx?rID=3751&fID=345
What this video showed me was how scientists like Hector can be led astray by history, by failing to adequately question the pragma advanced by their predecessors and peers.
Hector's group produced the Xray model of the Rat VDR that I used to show why rats can never model human immune systems (and cancer). This took no great insight on my part, yet it was something so obvious that Hector's team missed it altogether. Sad really.
Soon after this presentation, my understanding is that Hector relinquished his departmental Chairmanship, due to ill health.

Can I assume Hectorol is contraindicated while on MP? Is a Trevorol patent in the works?
Besides the long tail, what makes rats so different from humans?

Wrotek has just found the presentation by Prof Vieth that had shifted from my bookmark, and here it is:
http://wildhorse.insinc.com/directms13oct2005/softvnetplayer.htm
The video is in Microsoft format, unfortunate for the Mac users out there
This is the most amazing video as it shows the poor scientific inference, and wild generalizations, which one tends to find coming from the 20th Century's Vitamin D thinkers. Personally, it was an eye-opener for me. I just couldn't believe the massive holes in the logic being advanced.
But then, I have lived in the tropics (New Guinea, 1974) and it was during a visit to Stockholm in 1986 that I suddenly realized how stupid all this sun/latitude stuff really was...

"Potential Adverse Outcomes of Vitamin D" - is Dr V starting to realize his mistakes of the past?

No way, he is going to state dogmatically that there is no chance of any adverse outcomes. Remember, Rico, he will be taking a decent dose of this 'vitamin' himself...
