Hello Anthony,

All I can say is that, after looking around on the MP, I haven't read any warnings about alkaline water. And below are a couple of links discussing alkaline vs acidic and water. One is from Dr. Andrew Weil & the other is from a Mayo Clinic nutritionist:

http://www.drweil.com/drw/u/QAA400883/The-Acid-Alkaline-Diet-Eating-to-Protect-Bones.html

http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/alkaline-water/AN01800

Hope this helps!

Pam

One caution I can think of is that many of the alkaline water solutions use potassium carbonate or other potassium derived substances to achieve alkalinity.

Since Olmesartan increases potassium retention, I would be wary of raising potassium so high as to interfere with cardiovascular function.

U can easily make alkaline water by boiling it - evaporates excess hydrogen. It will reach around 8 Ph .
I have read about this type of water a lot and i think that science behind it is not good. I mean microclusters etc. like kangen water.

Thanks for the reply's guys, SeanLane this could expain my elevated potassium level a month ago. I will look into the Kangen machine further.

Looking does not hurt, I looked too :)
They claim basically 3 things about this water- alkaline, microclustered and high negative orp - oxidation reduction potential.

I dont think it means much. Microcluster water does not exist :) many sources say.

If you are interested in hydration, check out http://www.watercure2.org . It is totally philanthropic website.

Avoid caffeine, alcohol and eat unrefined salt with trace minerals.

I have to say I did start to drink a good amount of ionized water...and for a while I felt really bad...antibiotics started hurting again.....then after a few miserable weeks I felt really great...go figure?

Many things act as adjuvants. Maybe this is what you were feeling with ionized water. Take a look at Prof Shoenfeld's presentation in Singapore:

Sounds very familiar..especially since my diagnosis of Neuropathy was triggered by a virus....could that be considered a adjuvant?

I also have to wonder if the ionized water made me feel bad at first by flushing certain adjuvants/triggers. Since then I have kept it at about three liters a day, and still feel very good....consistently ...I will keep posting on my progress.

I do not believe that anything other that Olmesartan induces recovery....and what I am experiencing is exactly that recovery. But I have to make notes along the way about things that I feel have been helpful, hopefully without confusing recovery and progress from the MP with other things, again, that I find consistently to be helpful.

Before treatment, when my ex wife began stirring up allergens by cleaning the oven or vacumming dirty carpet, I had severe immune response. When I cleared the air with ionizers/air filters, I would gradually return to a tolerable state.

My thinking goes like this....forgive me if I am simplistic and use wrong terminology here....But if there are endotoxins/AGE's/contaminants/etc. in the bloodstream from a die off or something else...what better way to help(besides Olmesartan) than to help move them out of the blood?

What he(Yehuda) is saying is nothing new and should not come as any surprise....a better subject for him to investigate would be WHY so many antibodies are made in the first place.

I think half of what we(who have chronic disease) call herxing is just various response to different triggers.

I think of some types chronic disease as a slow burning coal fire that can erupt when the right combinations/quantity of these antibodies are triggered.

Olmesartan just came along and lowered that whole reaction down to a bearable, yet productive process.

On the subject of palliation, I think ionized water or even just plenty of clean water can definitely affect the overall intensity of immunopathology, (all though it may increase immunopathology early on)

Like I said earlier, maybe after sometime it can 'dilute' the overall process.

My air ionizers would soon turn black with dirt/mold after a few hours .Maybe ionized water works in the blood a little like an ionizer works in the air?...forgive me...it's late ...I'm ranting...still, it's something to consider... :)

I had a very unexpected reaction this afternoon.  After drinking about 10 ounces of alkaline water around 10 a.m., I experienced a strong fluttering and very fast pulse around 2 p.m.  This was quite startling and lasted several minutes.  Even though I had taken 40 mg. of Benicar around 12:30 before lunch, I immediately used 40 mg. sublingually.  Thankfully, the arrhythmia finally subsided.

I hadn't had that combination of symptoms since early in the MP many years ago.

Best to all! . . . Carole

Carole,

Would you care telling us the exact source of this 'alkaline water'?

Thank you!
Ron

Hello, Ron, and thanks for the reply!

I had visited a microscopist, who had prepared the water. When I contacted her after the event, she said she had purified the water the day before through a machine, where it was set at a pH 8.  I know of no other information regarding the filtering system or procedures.

Thanks! . . . Carole

Also had a very bad reaction to Alkaline Water many years ago (pre-MP). Here is my post from the Volvic Mineral Water Thread:

I'm not sure if this is relevant to the discussion, but maybe it has some value.

About 8 years ago (pre-MP), I experimented with drinking alkaline water based on the recommendations in the book "Fantastic Voyage" by Ray Kurzweil and Terry Grossman. I purchased an alkaline water machine and proceeded to drink 8-10 cups of alkaline water with a pH between 9.5 and 10 as recommended.

After one day I experienced massive depression. This depression was like nothing I experienced before and caused me to spend the next 24 hours in bed. A week later I tried again just to make sure it was the water and not something else. Second try produced the same results - massive depression. The depression I experienced was so scary that I immediately threw away the alkaline water machine and swore never to drink such water again.

One might wonder if the depression was not caused by an immune response to toxins released after ingestion.

This is what I experienced early on, now there is no reaction to alkaline water at (pH 9.5)

I find this very interesting as I can also atest to certain things increasing my ip during my MP journey, some antagonists of course.

Could this one be the water enabling the immune system to work a bit more efficiently-maybe the low ph or added hydration or combination?

I thought one's body would do just about anything to maintain a pH of 7.4. I'm not a scientist though, so would appreciate clarification on this.  Is not the body's main regulator of pH the amount of CO2 emitted from the lungs?

Just to be devil's advocate, how correct is the information on the site below, please?
