Alec Baldwin is going to produce and star in the movie, Lymelife, about what happens when deer ticks go bad.

The good part of his doing so is it allowed me to get a "plug" in for autoimmunityresearch.org and bacteriality.com in the comments, and not too far down the list.  Hopefully, some folks who have never heard of the MP will be introduced.  I understand that my comments were transferred to lymenet, too.

Brick by brick!

Wishing all wellness!!!

Alec Baldwin's brother Steven spoke at my Church today.  He is planning to come back to Austin in June to set up this big extreme sports thing to get teens to understand that you can have fun and be a Christian.  I didn't get a chance to meet him today because the Church was packed and I was a camera operator so I had to focus on that but we now have a direct connection to the Baldwins because of the backing from my Church.  I will see him again in June.  You never know what opportunity will present itself.  Will keep you posted.

Hey George - So what ever happened with the movie about lyme, was it ever produced and released? I'd be interested in seeing it.  Thanks!  JC

I just saw Lymelife tonight. It is available from Netflix. My guess is that it went "straight to video" since I never noticed it playing in a theater.

Its an interesting movie. Its more about life in suburban Long Island in the 70's than Lyme disease itself. But does portray some of the struggles of living with Lyme... difficult diagnosis, fear of deer, alienation, "its all in your head", etc.

Its reassuring to watch the struggle in the movie and yet be able to have hope for a healthy future:cool:

Beth.

I saw the movie and will have to say that it was more about Alec Baldwin's broken family life than about lyme.  With regards to lyme, a family friend had the infection who showed symptoms such as depression, anger and suicidal conditions.  The movie shared where lyme comes from (tick-borne) but didn't get much into what lyme truly is.  As a lymie I was a bit dissappointed that the message for lyme wasn't stronger than it what was portrayed to be.

I still think the best movie re: Lyme Disease is "Under our skin". You can see it on You Tube in stages. They also have a website with a short trailer,if you haven't seen it, it is very good. I have often thought I would like to buy a CD and have it shown at the school or the museum in Vero Beach, but I never got around to doing that.
