It is not uncommon to feel intermittent, transient, usually postural dizziness when you start the Marshall Protocol. This is because Benicar is reducing the level of 1,25-D and causing many other hormonal changes.
Some may need to take a couple weeks off from work until your symptoms stabilize. You've embarked on a serious treatment plan and need to respect the profound changes that are happening in your body.
Sometimes the dizziness persists. This is because of continued fluctuations in the level of 1,25-D, other hormonal adjustments and the areas of your body that have been affected by inflammation. Dizziness is not due to taking Benicar even though the blood pressure may be lower or very low. Dizziness is part of the inflammatory disease process.
It's fine to monitor your blood pressure but it isn't necessary. You may prove that your dizziness is related to your blood pressure. But blood pressure modulation difficulties are a part of your disease process just as your dizziness is.
You can stop worrying about Benicar being the cause of your dizziness. Benicar is defining your inflammatory symptoms and helping your immune system eliminate the cause of that inflammation. Benicar is your friend even though it may not seem like it at times.
As the inflammation resolves with the Marshall Protocol, dizziness resolves also. The dizziness resolves even when the blood pressure remains low and the dosage of Benicar remains the same. This is clear evidence that dizziness is not caused by Benicar and/or a change in blood pressure. Dr Marshall says: the sudden dizzyness as you stand up from a crouched position is also a function of healing, and it goes away as you progress to cure. It also seems to be associated with bacterial die-off."
Do take care when changing positions... getting up more slowly, holding firmly, etc, so that you do not fall and hurt yourself.
Advice given by Dr. Blaney on the DVD. When low blood pressure and other debilitating symptoms occur: lay low, stay in bed, drink adequate fluids, eat salty foods and wait for the symptoms to wane.
For those who are more symptomatic, taking the Benicar (in half tablets) 20mg @ Q3H by day and 40mg @ bedtime to go longer / up to Q6H to sleep.. may give better relief of symptoms.. it may take a couple of days to feel the difference..
Diligent avoidance of Light and Vitamin D are essential also.
re fainting or passing out: "Your fainting was likely due to hormonal adjustment and/or the Herxheimer reaction. The solution is to take it easy and be prepared for the feeling of passing out so that you can sit down immediately no matter where you are to avoid injury. The is the only concern. Your disease is responsible and as your inflammation resolves, this symptom will resolve too."
