Hi all,
I have a friend who had a kidney transplant years ago. Now they are looking at having to remove it because the kidney is failing and the anti-rejection meds are causing skin cancer. The cancer is so bad that he hardly has any skin left on his hands and they will have to start using skin grafts. He also has fluid accumulating around his heart and the docs don't know why.
I considered mentioning to him that he should have his D metabolites tested, thinking that systemic inflammation could be the root of his problems. However, the anti-rejection meds are immune suppressants (Prednisone being one of them). He is currently being weaned off of them, I guess because his 2nd kidney has failed anyway. He goes for dialysis every other day. They are going to put a "window" in the sac around his heart to let the excess fluid drain into his abdomen to be absorbed. It will be 2 - 10 years before they can consider giving him another kidney (not sure why - maybe because of the meds?).
Is it worth mentioning the MP to him? Is kidney failure something that would make you consider Th1 inflammation? If so, would herxing be too much for him, giving his state of health, or is the MP treatment contraindicated for someone on dialysis? I don't know much about his history - I only know that his kidney failed... twice. Any other symptoms could have been caused (or overlooked) because of such a significant health issue, or by the fact that he's been taking so many horrible drugs to attempt to keep the kidney.
Any advice?
Thanks,
Alison

Alison,
Unfortunately, at this point in time, I can't imagine a doctor who would treat a patient as sick as your friend is with the Marshall Protocol.
Best,
Meg

Meg,
Thanks for the reply. That's pretty much what I figured, but it just breaks my heart to see my friend's health faltering before my eyes.
I just thought I would ask.
Thanks again,
Alison
